Age of Legends

Well, the holidays are over, and I have come in from the wilderness to blessed civilization. In other words, I can access the internet again.

In the interests of jumpstarting this blog, I'm bringing over a project that I started on the RPOL forums.   I'll be reposting my earlier work in daily installments, then resuming the project once I've exhausted all of my pre-prepared material. I also have some ideas of some other content that I plan to write that should get this blog going.

It's perfect timing that this year seems to be the year of legends. There is the upcoming DC's Legends of Tomorrow on the CW that will introduce a lot of DC's rich mythology. With the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens the original Star Wars Expanded universe got renamed Star Wars: Legends. Upcoming games like Elder Scrolls: Legends tell that we are getting interested in the stories of legend and mythology.

The worlds of mythology and legend are multiple and varied each with different renditions and variations of the telling. That's what I hope to post here in the next while. I'll also be participating in the Blogathon again this year so looking forward to jumpstarting the blog.

Blogathon Kickoff

It's that time of year again the Biannual Blogathon Bash.  Its an opportunity for Bloggers to get together and work on their blogging projects.  Get as little or as much done as you can is the idea.
I have a hard time focusing and sticking to anything so this event is a good thing for me.

I hope to get some writing done as well as find a way to keep up with other blogs, network and maybe come out of my shell.

Nothing Is Impossible

I saw something on Twitter that led me to a blog post about "Nothing" where physicists and thinkers came together recently to debate the concept of nothing at the American Museum of Natural History.  While each presented their own theories of the state of nothing as it could be described by mathematics, and quantum physics I believe three words sum it up well.

Nothing Is Impossible

This statement has two meanings which is why I like it.  "Nothing" as a concept is literally impossible because it will always be "something".  In order for us as humans to conceive of something is has to become something we can relate to. An empty box for example can be said to have "Nothing" in it but is that true? It is still made up of matter, has air inside and cannot in truth be called Nothing.  Even in a vacuum the empty space is still just that space and a vacuum.  Nothing is an idea and as an idea it becomes something.

The second part of the statement is the possibility that if Nothing is Impossible then to balance that we must consider that Everything is Possible

“Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer.”- Dan Brown

We live in a world of unending possibilities limited only by our imaginations. This is an exciting idea that we can see in the world if we have the eyes for it.  Look at the amazing variety of life on our planet in its diversity and possibility and eventually you will come to the realization of the true magic of life's possibilities.

I leave you with the song Nothing Is Impossible by the Planetshakers. When I first heard the song I heard the lyrics as "Screw you I can do anything" but apparently the line is "Through you I can do anything." I think someone should release a variation with this lyric change.

Behind The Blog

What's great about the blogathon's I participate in is the inspiration I gain from them. On the task list of the Itty Bitty Blogathon there are several writing prompts and right now this is exactly what I need. The reason I started this blog was because of my sister.  She has her own blog and would receive many different things in the mail to review. Books, CD's, even Movies would come in for free just as long as she discussed them on her blog. I of course thought that was awesome!  Of course there were some products she got that I had no interest in but now depending on what kind of blog you were creating companies were willing to share their products and I wanted in.

I had blogged before on Livejournal and even tried making my own website a couple of times. So the interest had been there before to write.  I just could never get my page to look quite right and even still I am working it out. (Just changed the name yet again.)

One thing you don't know about me is something I have been reluctant to share online.  My mental state is not good and by that I mean it does not serve me well.  I have a hard time explaining it because I can't get my thoughts written down quickly enough before more are coming in.  You could say I am depressed but I am not in favor of labels because they have so many different meanings and often negative connotations. I have been diagnosed with a Learning Disability and mental illness runs in the family.  I don't think of myself having a mental illness even though that's the picture some would like to paint.  Instead I think of my mind as using a different operating system than others and that there are many operating systems that human beings possesses. Bi-polar, or Autism are different labeled operating systems that in my opinion are not a "disease" we just have to learn our operating system and how to make it work for us.

I still have to learn how to manage my mind.  I am often called a quiet person and don't socialize as much as I used to.  My thoughts reflect on things hidden, unseen, invisible, and what is possible.  People fear what they don't understand and many of my thoughts and beliefs are of the invisible worlds around us that others don't see and this makes it difficult to relate with others.

I am grateful for my readers because they offer a voice and feedback on what I am writing and thinking. Right now though I don't have a lot of readers because I haven't put too much work and energy into the blog.  This is primarily because I still need to get over being worried that no one would be interested in what I write. I do consider however the vastness of the internet where  someone somewhere must be able to connect with what I write. I know there are people who share in my beliefs and I try to take some hope in that.

On my blog you'll find my attempt to discuss and theorize on the vast possibilities of existence and the hidden realms we live in.  Philosophy, Consciousness, Spirituality as well as Reviews (Books, Movies, Comics, Music) is what I hope to cover.

When I was young I wanted to be an inspiration and positive force for change.  Over time as I have grown I have been disappointed and alienated by friends, and people in general. This has caused me to turn away and retreat from the world. I try to be better and open up in the hope to be able to find some peace.

Itty Bitty Blogathon

Itty Bitty Blogathon Kick Off

Today I am participating in the Itty Bitty Blogathon a 24 hour version of the Biannual Blogathon Bash that I have been involved with.  Participating in these helps me connect with other bloggers,  gain some focus and is always fun.  There are a lot of challenges to complete and each one is worth a certain amount of points.

I plan to get as much writing done first followed by whatever else I can complete from the list. I have been meaning to get some writing done anyway so with the writing prompts included it should be a productive day.

Of course you can participate too just jump on over to the Biannual Blogathon Bash site and get started.

Papal Prophecy

Lightning struck the Vatican hours before Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation of his position as the Pope.  He was the first Pope to stand down in 598 years but we can see the heavens are changing power.  If you have heard of the Papal Prophecies of St Malachy then you know that Benedict was predicted to be the second to the Final Pope.

Malachy in 1139 AD had a vision showing him all the Popes stretching from the successor to Innocent II and extending through centuries to the last of the line, identified as Peter of Rome. Malachy assigned short descriptions in Latin to each pope when he committed his vision to paper.

Widely distributed in 1595 the predictions that came to pass usually refer to a family name, birthplace, coat-of-arms, or office held before election to the papacy.  The final prediction for the Final Pope stated "In the extreme persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit Peter the Roman, who will nourish the sheep in many tribulations; when they are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The end"

While officially the Vatican denies any accuracy of the Prophecy many of the choices to make the Pope fit the prophecy are easy enough to stage.  What's interesting though is the other Benedict XV (1914–1922), in the Malachy Prophecies where it stated Religio depopulata or "Religion Destroyed".  Of course that Pope reigned during, World War I. This unprecedented period of violence was mainly fought between the Christian powers of Europe began the worldwide spread of atheistic Communism.

Quatrain II-41
The great star will burn for seven days,
The cloud will make two suns appear:
The large mastiff will howl all night
When the great pontiff changes his abode.
- Nostradamus

Nostradamus’ quatrains are confusing and open to many interpretations. But between the Comet ISON and the asteroid of February 15, 2013 we have exciting things ahead for us.

Monday's Music Moves Me

Well its Monday again, the week has just flown by and its time again for some music.  It's a busy week with Valentines Day just around the corner.  This week's theme is Valentines appropriate songs but without "Love" in the title. (There are so many)

The first song I thought of when coming up with this was Cupid, by Sam Cooke a classic from 1961.

The 1990 song More Than Words by Extreme is my next choice.  The song is a great reminder that sometimes we need to use More Than Words to show what we feel.  This song was always a favorite and we sung it in music class when I was in grade school.

What is it about Journey that makes all their songs sound epic? Open Arms remains one of my favorites.

Enjoy your week!
